Michael "Wolvy" Ray Wolverton

I’m Gone!!!   I, Michael Ray (Wolvy) Wolverton left on May 29, 2015, at 10:19 P.M. I was born March 14, 1958, to Margret “Maggie” and Wayne “Hammer” Wolverton in Des Moines, Iowa. I was the seventh of eight children and always the favorite! I attended Saydel schools, I received my degree in 1976, where I excelled in ALL sports; wrestling, football, baseball, boxing and horseplay and was a standout student. In 1977, I started as a laborer for Local 67, crafting my skills working to become an iron worker. In 1987 after a small accident, I changed my career to animal health care, WHERE I WAS AWESOME!  All the dogs and cats loved my gentle care, the last 14 years at Village Animal Care. I worked as an animal care specialist until recently, when I encountered a non scheduled fight with cancer. Being a strong Irish man, I put up a hell of a battle going deep into the 15th round, getting a few good shots in, I lasted longer than I was supposed to, but eventually losing the fight! So I’m going to see my mom and my dad, and my older brothers John, Patrick, and my twin sisters Shannon and Sharon. Please come out for one last party with my sisters Katie, Teresa, and Timmie, my nieces and nephews and all my friends! A Party will be held at Assembly Hall, 1280 NE 56 St, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, on June 14, 2015 from 2 until 5 P.M. Bring all your pictures and stories to share. GO CYCLONES!!!!!
