Dorothy Phyllis Elwick

Dorothy P. Elwick, 91, of Ames, died January 20, 2018, at Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford, Iowa.  The daughter of Frank and Vivian Coy, Dorothy was born May 3, 1926, in Ames, Iowa.  Dorothy was educated in the Ames school system.  Dorothy married Clifford Elwick, and  the couple made their home in Ames where they raised three sons.   Dorothy was a dedicated wife, and mother spending all her time caring for her family.  In her younger years, one of Dorothy’s passions and favorite pastimes, which brought her so much joy, was attending Quarter Horse shows in the area. 

Dorothy is survived by her son Danny Elwick, of Ames, IA; two granddaughters Autumn and Melissa, and two great grandchildren Lilianna and Blake, as well as many nieces, nephews, good    neighbors and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Clifford in 1976, and two of her sons, Larry Elwick and Jim Elwick both of  Ames.

Services for Dorothy Elwick will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 1303 Grand    Avenue, Ames Iowa.
